Description

The "Mule Bibs" should be called Super Bibs! The bibs are made of 1,000 Denier Briarproof material then we double the material on the front of the legs from about mid-thigh down to the hem. The bibs have two deep front pockets and two back pockets plus a chest pocket. Shoulder straps are extra wide for support and strength. The hook-up snaps are nickel-plated and super-strong. The bottom of the legs (where the most wear occurs) has a full one inch rollover with four rows of stitching! No more ragged legs...unless you order them too long! These bibs are riveted and double sewn with a strong nylon thread...not your typical cotton thread. They'll probably outlast you!
Plain bibs (those without a waterproof lining) are water-resistant and can be kept so by applying a waterproof fabric spray after each cleaning.

Waterproof bibs cost $10 more and contain the same outer material as the Plain Bibs BUT they have an inner lining to help stop the passage of water from the outside to the inside. This liner will not breathe, so waterproof bibs will be warmer since it will trap body heat.

The waterproof barrier covers you from the waist all the way to the end of the hem in the legs. Please note: If you somehow manage to poke a thorn through the material and through the liner, the liner WILL leak. Stuff with holes in it leak...it's just how it is.

Features:
  • Two heavy-duty buttons on each side
  • Big chest pocket with snaps
  • Fly with snap enclosure
  • 18" Zippers in each leg
  • Riveted and Double-Sewn
  • Available in Plain or WaterProof
Colors: Brown or Green (Green is available in limited sizes and quantities)

New and Improved Sizing Chart:

Start here!
For your best fit, measure your waist and determine your everyday T-Shirt size. This will be the first part of the size. Then, determine your inseam (see how below). This will be the 2nd part of the sizing. If you need help determining your size, call us, 601-856-5169...we are here to help!!

Normal Jean Waist SizeNormal Comfortable T-Shirt SizeOrder Bib Size

Inseam:
Measure from crotch to ankle bone for inseam length. This should equal about 2" shorter than the inseam for your regular pants.Long bibs will drag and you will walk on the bottom seams causing fraying. You wear the bibs from your shoulders-not your waist, so you can adjust the bibs lower or higher using your shoulder straps.

Example #1: Use this example if: you are the same size in the chest and waist, based on the chart above, OR if you have a bigger chest than waist...
You will select the bibs that are the same as your t-shirt size.
I
f you wear a 44 waist pants with a 32 inseam length and wear a 2XL T-shirt, you will wear a 2XL/30 Bib

Example #2: Use this example if: you are bigger in the waist than at the chest.
You will select the bibs that are the same size as your waist-NOT your t-shirt size.

If you wear a 44 waist pants with a 32 inseam length but wear an XL T-shirt, you will wear a 2XL/30 Bib (your bibs must fit your waist-so go with your waist size-not your shirt size).

Tidbit:
Why do we want you to wear your bibs 2" shorter than your pants? Because we care! 99.9% of the population wear their pants too long and it bunches on the top of the shoe. That's fine for blue jeans, but, briarproof material is thick and doesn't 'bunch' so if you get them as long as your jeans, instead of bunching, they're going to drag OR the kick-out on your boot will catch the back hem and tear out the hem or bust the zipper track when you step forward. Trust us...we do this for a living...order them 2" shorter. If you wear an odd numbered length of jean, order the next shortest even size. So, if you wear a 31" jean, order a 28" long bib. You will thank us every time you come home and your hem and zipper are still intact. You're welcome!

MULE BIBS SAVED MY LEG - TWICE! March 24, 2015
Reviewer: Brian from PA
I purchased my Mule Bibs in November 2010 to be used while rabbit hunting.  I wore them and was surprised at the briars and brush that I could go through.  I decided to try waterproofing these, as I bought the ones without waterproof lining.  So I got out some beeswax that I use on my boots and a heat gun, and melted wax into the fabric.  The heat gun burned the material and made it dark in a few areas.  However, they were now keeping me dry.  When first waxed they were stiff but soon loosened up.

I did find a better way to wax my mules, no longer using a heat gun.  I now heat my wax in a crockpot, then paint it on with a paintbrush, then I use an old iron to iron on wax.  Now I have the best hunting and work bibs and they keep me dry.  This treatment lasts up to a year or two then you can do it again.  Sometimes I just re-iron them and it works.

In the Spring of 2011 I wore my Mules while using a chainsaw for brush and trees; I chose to wear these because of the thick areas in which we were cutting.  I nicked them with the chainsaw a few times, then cut my left leg of my mules with about a 3 inch slice.  My leg had a slight cut, more or less just the top layer of skin scraped.  Sadly, my mules now had a slice.  I took some Spiderwire fishing line and sewed them myself then put a little bit of Gorilla Glue over that--an easy repair that held up.  I used these mules 5 months out of the year for hunting, but all year long I've used them while working in bad/heavy brush areas.  When weedwacking, they have helped protect my legs from flying debris, gravel, and one time even a yellow jacket nest.  During the yellow jacket instance, several yellow jackets were hanging on to my mules but were unable to sting through the material.  I also used permethrin on these to keep off the ticks.  Also, they were good when tracking a wounded buck my friend had shot that went into the thickest cover it could find.  For me these are great for hunting, but I also consider them great outdoor workwear.

Most recently, at the end of February this year, while working at our local beagle club, I had an accident with the chainsaw - AGAIN!  I ended up with a large 11 or 12 inch cut on my Mule bibs, and only a 4 inch cut on my leg.  The Mules took the worst of it, and I believe helped save my leg - even the doctor at the hospital said that.  16 external stitches and some internal stitches, but no cuts to tendon, arteries, or bone.  It took a chainsaw to do any damage to these, and the briars and brush from the last fiver years have caused little wear.  Luckily this accident occurred just after rabbit hunting season and I didn't miss any hunting time.  After seeing my Mules and my leg, my wife also believes the Mule bibs saved me from a worse injury, and she insisted I get a new pair.

You have received my order and I have received my new pair.  So, I guess it's back to work.

Thank you for great service and the best hunting and work bibs I have ever owned. Mules make work more comfortable--and safe!!

Thank you again for a great product and outstanding service!

Sincerely,

Brian Pottorff

BIBS ARE SOOO COMFORTABLE! March 24, 2015
Reviewer: Bob from MA
I purchased a pair of bibs from you 2 years ago.  I wear them every day from December to March. They are the most well built, comfortable and toughest pair of anything I have ever worn!! They loosen up and feel like worn in blue jeans.
Once again, thanks for everything.
Bob

Waterproof Bibs - Great Stuff - Pass It Along October 29, 2014
Reviewer: Preston from Delaware
The first time I ever came across Mule clothing was I ran into a guy in the woods wearing them. I was so intrigued, I went home, called and got a brochure, then I ordered a pair of waterproof bibs. For over 20 years, I've been briarproof and dry!! All my buddies in my hunting club wear them. I'm a believer in Mule! As a matter of fact, I gave my old pair to a friend and just ordered me a new pair!
